It could be argued that Jim’s radio career began in his basement at about age 10. That’s about the age when he began recording music from the radio and back-selling songs onto a Radio Shack cassette recorder. When he was 15 he began Disc Jockeying dances at churches and schools and the aspiration to be on the radio was quickly cemented. Jim’s radio career spans over 20 years, beginning in a small unrated market as a talent and then programming his way into a major market. The spark to become a voice talent came when he’d only been in the business for just over a year. “I snagged a Bill Moffitt demo cassette and listened on my way home. I never aspired to be Bill, who could? But I definitely wanted to be a voice talent from that point forward.” Jimmer (as his friends call him) left his OM/PD/On Air gig almost 4 years ago to pursue voice over full time. “I’d built the VO biz for about 5 years on the side and financially I knew I could make it work. Zeus (Curran Stewart) had been telling me for years that when I finally made the full time commitment, the work would come. It didn’t hurt that my wife had a great career as a safety net.” Jim can be heard in 8 different countries and 3 different languages. He can be heard currently as the imaging voice on News/Talk, Rock, Country, Sports, Classic Rock, and AC. He also has national spot credits for Mitsubishi Televisions, Ultimate Bet, Pokemon- The Rise of Darkrai movie to DVD release, LaZboy, and others.
