Chachi Loves Everybody takes listeners with Denes – better known as “Chachi” – as he sits down for candid conversations with radio’s legends, master brand builders, up-and-comers, and innovators in the burgeoning audio space, revealing the true stories behind their successes and their insights into building iconic brands through audio.

Chachi’s first guest is Edgar “ShoBoy” Sotelo, the owner/host of the only bicultural/bilingual Latino syndicated radio show that is heard across the U.S. on 25 stations from coast-to-coast. He has won the Marconi Award for Personality of the Year and was honored by the U.S. Senate with the Most Influential Leader Award. Sotelo shares his experience using his platform to celebrate Latino culture and make a difference in the community.

On this episode of Chachi Loves Everybody, Chachi talks to ShoBoy about:

  • Immigrating to the U.S. when he was five years old from Jalisco, Mexico, and the sacrifices his parents made to give their kids a better future
  • How he tries to use radio as a megaphone for good to support, represent, and unite Latinos living a dual Spanish and English lifestyle
  • What it was like to interview the First Lady Michelle Obama and how he helped the Dallas Latino community enroll in Affordable Care Act coverage
  • Winning a Marconi and putting his all in when he was invited back to host the awards
  • The PD that went to jail for him
  • Incredible experiences he’s grateful for, including meeting President Barack Obama at the White House and opening for Gabriel Iglesias at Madison Square Garden
  • Being a girl dad and how his wife, family, and faith have supported him throughout his career
  • Starting the “Hanging With Los Sotelos” podcast during the pandemic with his wife to give hope and unite families by sharing challenges and being vulnerable
  • And more!

Chachi’s second guest, Heather Cohen, has been named to Radio Ink’s Most Influential Women in Radio for the past nine years, is a recipient of Talkers’ Judy Jarvis Award and many other honors. Cohen joined The Weiss Agency from GreenStone Media, LLC, where she was Vice President, Programming. Prior to that, she was Assistant Program Director for New York’s legendary WOR, and was also Executive Producer for “The Joan Hamburg Show.” Cohen shares with Chachi what it is like to represent incredible talent as an agent and the amazing friends, clients, mentors, and mentees she has met along the way and talks about:
