SLOW JAMS HOST R DUB! APPEARING ON ABC’S SHARK TANK OCTOBER 11TH

Recording Artist Brian McKnight Performs in Pitch for Sunday Night Slow Jams

OCTOBER 7, 2013, BURBANK, CA — Benztown Radio Networks announced today that radio entrepreneur R Dub!, creator and host of the nationally syndicated radio show, “Sunday Night Slow Jams,” will appear on the October 11th episode of “Shark Tank” on the ABC Television Network. Platinum recording artist Brian McKnight sings to the Sharks when he joins R Dub! as he pitches “Sunday Night Slow Jams,” his four-hour weekly radio show featuring Rhythmic and Pop love songs and listener dedications called “Oral Expressions.” The Sharks in this episode of “Shark Tank” are Mark Cuban, owner and chairman of AXS TV and outspoken owner of the Dallas Mavericks; “Queen of QVC” Lori Greiner; technology innovator Robert Herjavec; fashion and branding expert Daymond John and venture capitalist Kevin O’Leary. The episode airs on Friday, October 11, at 9:00-10:00 p.m. Eastern on the ABC Television Network.

“Sunday Night Slow Jams” (www.slowjams.com) and the nightly version, “Slow Jams with R Dub!”, feature the hottest love songs from today’s biggest artists, like Mariah Carey, Usher and Drake, and the classics from back in the day, including timeless voices like Aaliyah, R. Kelly and Toni Braxton. R Dub! created “Sunday Night Slow Jams” in 1994 at the age of 17, at a tiny AM radio station in the middle of the Tucson desert. Today, “Sunday Night Slow Jams” can be heard in over 70 cities across the U.S. and around the world. The show is syndicated by Benztown Radio Networks. R Dub! also heads up a 24-hour all-Slow Jams channel on the iHeartRadio network.

ABC Television Network’s “Shark Tank” is back for a fifth season, with the Sharks continuing the search to invest in the best businesses and products that America has to offer. Last season, the critically-acclaimed business-themed show became a ratings force, regularly finishing as Friday night’s No. 1 program on the major networks among Adults 18-49. The Sharks—tough, self-made, multi-millionaire and billionaire tycoons- give budding entrepreneurs the chance to make the American dream come true and potentially secure business deals that could make them millionaires. The entrepreneurs who dare to enter the Tank must try to convince the Sharks to part with their own hard-earned cash and give them the funding they need to turn their dreams into realities. In Season 5, the Sharks are on track to surpass the amount of money offered each season in their investment deals. Over the past four seasons, the Sharks have offered more than $23 million to bankroll a creative array of innovative entrepreneurs. Mark Burnett, Clay Newbill and Phil Gurin are the executive producers of “Shark Tank”, which is based on the Japanese “Dragons’ Den” format created by Nippon Television Network Corporation. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television.

R Dub!, “Sunday Night Slow Jams” Host and President of Fusion Radio Networks, said: “You first have to understand that ‘Shark Tank’ is my absolute favorite TV show. By watching faithfully every week, I feel like I know the Sharks personally and love each one of them in a different way. So after seeing the Sharks from my living room every Friday night for years, you can imagine my excitement in getting the chance to  actually stand right in front of them, in person. Absolutely surreal.”

“Being on ‘Shark Tank’ is one of the biggest opportunities I have ever been blessed with. To know that I was selected out of over 40,000 other entrepreneurs to appear on the show is simply mind-blowing.  There are a lot of amazing products in The Tank and to think that ‘Sunday Night Slow Jams’ is right up there with them is a huge testament to all my listeners who have shaped the show over the years. They are the people that made ‘Sunday Night Slow Jams’ the success that it is today. I am grateful and excited to continue this journey and celebration of success with them.”
