Keyboard Shortcuts – an inevitable way to control your Pro Tools. There is no other way than using them and knowing as much as you can, helps to speed up. Beside well known shortcuts, there are also secret ones, you might never heard of!
Pro Tools Experts recently released a list with interesting shortcuts. Let’s break it down:
Automation
• Enable Automation: ctrl + ⌥ + ⌘ + click on parameter // doesn’t work for all plugins.
• Switch Track to Automation Display: ctrl + ⌘ + click on parameter
Change Track View
• Display Waveform: ctrl + ⌘ + click on track name
• Display Volume Automation: ctrl + ⌘ + click on ‘vol’ in the I/O view
• Display Pan Automation: ctrl + ⌘ + click on ‘pan’
• Display Mute Automation: ctrl + ⌘ + click on mute button
Create New Tracks
• Stereo/Mono: ⌘ + ←/→
• Audio/Aux/Master/Midi: ⌘ + ↑/↓
• Samples/Ticks: ⌘ + ⌥ + ↑/↓
Misc
• Trim to preceding region: ctrl + while trim
• Zoom Clip Waveforms: ⌥ + ⇧ + scroll
• Size Selected Track: ctrl + ↑/↓
• Adjust Nudge Size: ⌘ + ⌥ + +/- //on Num Pad
• Adjust Grid Size: ctrl + ⌥ + +/- //on Num Pad
