Andy’s Fiver Friday #38 – A new MEGAMIX from Matt…
Friday – you know what time it is:
1. Plugins
I love using the API Vision Channel Strip by Universal Audio. This plugin has everything to get the channel on a solid sounding level: filters, gate/comp and 4band eq. Unlike an eq like Pro-Q2 this one will give you a limited amount of control, which makes it sometimes faster to get to a point.
For non UAD users, Waves has also an API collection which includes EQs, and Compressors.
2. Inspiration
This one is an old one – 10 years now – but in my eyes still a topic, as I think that there is no blueprint for most of the things we do or learn. This TED talk deals with the question whether school kills creativity. A thought worth to think about.

3. Music
Bright colors from India and an absolute high quality production!

4. Web/Social/Whatever
If you have missed our interview with Saro Sahihi, a local field recordist, click here. We wanted to know more about his life as a sound designer and -recordist, so he gave some tips about recording and organizing a sound library!
5. Imaging
Maybe you remember Matt Fisher’s huge mashup of 2015 for BBC Radio 1. He did it again! In my eyes it’s another burner. But convince yourself:
