Fiver Friday #536: BattleFX, AI Overviews, Summer Bangers +More!
June is officially here and the weeks are moving fast. Five things as usual for your weekend read!
1. Plugin
Unfiltered Audio just dropped BattleFX and it’s completely free. This thing pulls the send effects from their Battalion drum synth and turns them into a standalone plugin !So now you get the Shatter Delay and Headspace Reverb on any track you want. The Shatter Delay is genuinely wild: granular stretching, sample crushing, feedback with a tilt filter, and a Euclidean choke pattern built in. The reverb has 10 different modes (Dark, Rusty, Glitter, Bokeh… yeah). For imaging and production work this is an absolute no-brainer. Free. Zero dollars. Go get it:

2. Inspiration
Picasso said it best: “Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.”I keep coming back to this one. Too many people wait until they feel inspired before they start. Doesn’t work that way. You show up, you put in the reps, and inspiration shows up to meet you. That’s the whole game. Stop waiting. Start working.
3. Music
Summer banger!
4. Web/Social/Whatever
This one is for the radio people, but share it with your clients too. Google’s AI Overviews are wrecking lower-funnel search advertising right now. Click-through rates are down 65% for brands that don’t even get cited in the AI responses. Westwood One just published an analysis that says radio’s brand-building model is exactly what fills that gap. What we do, how we build brand memory and emotional connection, that stuff is MORE valuable right now, not less. This is our moment. Great read:

5. Imaging
Check out the Composite Avalanche for May 2026 from the Benztown SoundCloud. This is the kind of imaging that just hits — powerful, relentless energy, production that sounds expensive. If you want to know what a station should feel like going into summer, this is it. Listen and steal some ideas:
