1. Plugin

Intrect just put its de artifact plugin into Pro Tools as an AAX. It cleans up the metallic, watery junk you hear in AI generated music, separated stems and lossy codec audio. You can run it on a single channel or the whole 2 bus, and a Diff monitor lets you solo exactly what it removes. Push the Strength knob too far and you start eating the music, so use your ears. AAX is Apple Silicon only for now. $149 through December 31, then $179, and there’s a 14 day trial with no card. Let me know, if it works for your and if you use AI generate stems and or music?

2. Inspiration

Chris Difford of Squeeze on revisiting their ambitious 1974 recordings for the new album Trixies: “We had the imagination before we had the technique.” Read that twice if you make anything. Technique gets better every year. Imagination is the part you can’t buy a plugin for. Rock Cellar ran the full interview on Wednesday.

The second trailer for “Ghost Soldier” dropped this week. Jim Caviezel plays a quiet guy living off the grid who turns out to be a former Special Forces soldier and weapons developer. My type of story 🙂
