BENZTOWN ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR FIRST-EVER TOP 50 VOICE-OVER ARTIST DESIGNATION
MAY 5, 2014, BURBANK, CA—Benztown today announced that it will release “Benztown 50”; the radio industry’s first-ever ranking of the top 50 voice-over artists in the U.S. The exclusive annual ranking will be based on several criteria, including number of radio station affiliates, station size and market. Benztown has partnered with SparkNet to compile and analyze industry data that will be the foundation for this distinction. The list is currently in development and will be released to the industry later this summer.
Dave “Chachi” Denes, President of Benztown, said: “Benztown is an industry leader in producing quality radio, voiceover and imaging, and as such, we believe it’s important to shine a light on the value of voiceover to successful radio brands. The very best voice-over professionals shape the listener experience and build distinctive audio brands that resonate with listeners. We’re proud to give credit where credit is due, and look forward to sharing these results with the industry very soon.”
Ken Benson, SparkNet’s President of Research said: “It’s about time the brand voices of radio get the recognition they deserve. We are excited to be partnering with Benztown to create this first of its kind list to honor the most influential voices in American radio. We will be using our online platform, interviews, and other research methods to collect and analyze the data provided by radio station groups, talent agencies, and the voice-over artists themselves.”
