Awards Will Showcase World’s Best Radio Ideas During the COVID-19 Pandemic and Will Be Presented at Radiodays Europe Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, on December 14, 2020

Benztown, a global leader in radio imaging, voiceover, programming and jingles, P1 Media Group, providing research, strategies and consulting to radio stations worldwide announce that they have partnered with Radiodays Europe, Radiodays Asia and RDE Podcast Day to present “The Coronavirus Radio Ideas Awards”. The Coronavirus Radio Ideas Awards will honor radio professionals from around the world that have used their brands and platforms in creative and innovative ways to better serve their listeners, partners and communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Coronavirus Radio Ideas Awards will recognize the best ideas in 10 categories, including: Best Social Media Video Content, Best Virtual Event, Best Parody, Best Virtual Concert, Best Station Promo, Best Community Service, Best Social Media Visual, Best Hometown Video, Best Sales Promotion and Best Mega Promotion. A further two categories, Best Podcast and Best Journalistic Content, will also be part of the awards. Nominations for these two special categories will be possible later in the year with both being judged by a panel of experts.

All radio professionals are encouraged to go online from now until close of day, in all time zones, July 31, 2020, to nominate their favorite ideas at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/coronavirusradioideas. Online voting for the nominees will begin on August 6, 2020, and will continue through September 7, 2020. These awards will be voted for by radio and podcast industry professionals from around the world at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/coronavirusradioideas.

The genesis of The Coronavirus Radio Ideas Awards was Benztown and P1 Media Group’s Coronavirus Radio Ideas Facebook Group, launched on March 26, 2020, and now known as the Global Radio Ideas Facebook Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/coronavirusradioideas). The Coronavirus Radio Ideas Awards will be presented at the Radiodays Europe conference in Lisbon, Portugal, on December 14, 2020.

The Global Radio Ideas Facebook Group was launched by Benztown and P1 Media Group on March 26, 2020, as The Coronavirus Radio Ideas Facebook Group. The group currently has over 2,600 members, representing more than 80 countries, and has collectively shared more than 200 ideas during the first four months of the Covid-19 pandemic. The group became the place for radio professionals worldwide to share and exchange ideas about how members’ respective stations were navigating the global pandemic. About Radiodays Europe, Radiodays Asia & Podcast Day

The meeting point for the world of radio and audio Radiodays Europe was born in 2010 as a response to the needs of the European industry, public and private, to come together to discuss the new media challenges, across borders. It has since grown to become the most important annual conference for radio professionals with over 1500 participants from 62 countries.

Radiodays Asia was launched with the same aims as those in Europe but for the Asian radio and podcast industry. Started in 2019 the first event was a success with 400+ speakers and attendees from the majority of countries in the region. The next event will be held in March 2021.

PODCAST DAY by Radiodays Europe was created in response to the need to bring together the Podcast world in Europe. The first PODCAST DAY was held in 2017 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Last year the event was held in London and was a sell out with 400 participants, the day was focused on innovation, business, strategy and all things podcasting.
