“CHACHI LOVES EVERYBODY” PODCAST RELEASES TWO NEW EPISODES
Benztown, a global leader in radio imaging, voiceover, programming and jingles, announces the release of two new episodes of “Chachi Loves Everybody”, a new original podcast produced by Benztown and featuring Benztown President and audio brand builder Dave “Chachi” Denes. The new episodes feature Chachi’s one-on-one interviews with Ken Benson, Partner, P1 Media Group, global media research strategist and consultant to radio stations worldwide, and storied media executive and entrepreneur, Jeff Smulyan, Founder and Chairman, Emmis Communications Corporation.
“Chachi Loves Everybody” takes listeners with Denes – better known as “Chachi” – as he sits down for candid conversations with Radio’s legends, master brand builders, and innovators in the burgeoning audio space, revealing the true stories behind their successes and their insights into building iconic brands through audio.
In the Jeff Smulyan episode, Denes gets personal with Smulyan, taking listeners back in time to the formative days of the Indianapolis-based media executive and entrepreneur. Smulyan also discusses the future of Emmis, as he leads the company through a transition from slower growth traditional media assets to new businesses with better growth profiles. Smulyan – who has been recognized as a Giant of Broadcasting by the Library of American Broadcasting, received the National Association of Broadcasters National Radio Award and the Golden Mike Award and was inducted in the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame and the Indiana Business Hall of Fame – talks candidly with Denes about his life and career highlights, including buying the Seattle Mariners, hiring and working with David Letterman, buying his first station in Indianapolis, selling beloved stations including Power 106 in Los Angeles, and moving into the future with the acquisition of Lencore Sound Masking.
In Ken Benson’s chat with Chachi, he reveals how he established P1 Media Group as the pre-eminent global media research and consulting firm, and how his career has enabled him to work with stations all over the world. Benson, who was named One of 25 Most Influential CHR Programmers of All Time by Radio & Records, also recalls becoming the PD of Z100 in Portland, OR. He recounts creating and producing the Top 10 Bruce Springsteen smash “Secret Garden/Jerry Maguire Mix”, which became such a hit that Howard Stern made fun of him for almost an hour. Benson also details his experiences rising to the head of Music Programming for MTV, becoming an SVP for Chancellor Media and ultimately, founding P1 Media.
