SECOND ANNUAL SLOW JAMS FOR KIDS
LOS ANGELES, CA, January 25, 2018— R Dub!, Creator, Host and Producer of internationally syndicated hit weekend radio show Sunday Night Slow Jams, and his global charitable initiative, “Slow Jams 4 Kids”, launches its second annual fund drive to raise $10,500 to provide the Aminit Border village in Uganda, Africa with a water well and clean water for the families there. In partnership with non-profit Water 4 Kids International, “Slow Jams 4 Kids” kicks off its high-impact water relief fund drive on Friday, January 26, 2018, with the debut of this video: www.slowjams4kids.com. The six-week long fund drive will continue through Friday, March 9. This year, R Dub! and Benztown will make a $1,000 donation to the fund drive for every radio station that adds Sunday Night Slow Jams to its programming lineup between Friday, January 26, and Friday March 9. Last year, R Dub!, together with his listeners, friends and colleagues in the U.S. radio industry, raised $10,500 in just 26 hours in the first-ever “Slow Jams 4 Kids” campaign and as a result, celebrated the delivery of a water well and clean water to Nyakoi Akuoro Village in Northeastern Uganda on March 30, 2017.
R Dub!, a world travel enthusiast, was inspired to take action after his first trip to Africa in December 2016. What he saw there was unthinkable: Nyakoi Akuoro Village had no clean source of water, and instead, villagers were forced to walk over a mile to a dirty water source–a disease-infested pit, full of mosquitoes and sickness. The bad water source caused numerous problems, including fights at the source and domestic violence. Its contaminated water (shared by animals) led to diseases including typhoid and cholera. Long lines led to children missing school because they spent half the day fetching water. A young child even fell in and died.

You’ll see the families and children taking a drink from the first clean water source that has ever been available in their village. You’ll see the smiles you created; the lives you saved. Angie Simon, Vice President of International Development, Hope 4 Kids International, said: “I can’t say enough about how this deep-water well will impact this community. Currently, five villages trek 3KM everyday to an open pit that was originally dug by a widow of eight children. Typhoid is rampant here, which exasperates their extreme poverty. This life-saving well will be their first line of defense, and will truly save hundreds for generations to come.”
