Starting things smooth – Moritz’s first week in Urban AC…

Hey everybody, it’s Moe!

As I told you in my last post, this was my first week doing Urban AC Brandings for Benztown’s Speaker Toyz AC format.

And, what can I say, it was so much fun and I’ve learned a lot about imaging this really smooth and reliable Radio Format.

One of the most important things is choosing the matching Sound FX:

No Explosions and crackling sounds but smooth wooshes and soft fx are the first choice in Urban AC Imaging.

I often use a soft ping-pong delay on my VO Tracks, and some reverb/delay effects on snares, claps and other rhythmic song elements.

But you really have to watch out that the different delays don’t phase or disturb each other.

I also really often use some simple drum loops under instrumental parts, that often only consist of some synth Pads to get a little more flow and pressure into the ramp.

As a result of my work of the week I got a really positive feedback of Bryan Apple, Our Format Captain which makes me very proud 😉

Here’s one my elements:
