Jim began his broadcasting career when he was 18 and while he was still a teenager began working for the next 31 years at the legendary 3WS in Pittsburgh, much of which was doing mornings. His voiceover business started in 1987, and was the first to “brand” the popular phrase “voice imaging”. Since then hundreds of voiceover people use that phrase to describe what it is they do. His website voiceimaging.com was created soon after Al Gore created the internet. Jim appreciates each client regardless of size and stature. He currently voices HBO promos and works in top ten markets, as well as imaging clients in places off the beaten path like Red Lodge Montana or Sitka Alaska. Most of the program directors he works for like his ability to have many different styles of reads from the same voice person. He is definitely not a “one read” person. From a hard biting edge aggressive read to a warm and heartfelt read Jim will nail it. The other comments he hears all the time is “I can’t believe you turned that around so quickly” or “you are the easiest person to work with”. Jim often says he doesn’t work for a set of call letters, but the program director that hires him. As those program directors move about, the first thing they do after they find the coffee pot and bathroom is call Jim. He left 3WS in 2010 and is currently spending full time doing what he loves the most, imaging radio and TV stations around the globe. To learn more visit www.voiceimaging.com.
