Nationally Syndicated Family-Friendly, Comedic Morning Show “Hey Morton” Coming in Hot to Nashville Area on New Affiliate 105.1 WJZM
LOS ANGELES, CA – July 9, 2025 – Benztown, a global leader in radio imaging, voiceover, programming, podcasting, and jingles, announces that nationally syndicated morning radio show, “Hey Morton,” made its debut this week on new Nashville-area affiliate, Fowler Media’s AC-formatted 105.1 WJZM. 105.1 WJZM, licensed to Clarksville, TN, serves listeners from Southern Kentucky to Northern Alabama and is a rimshot signal of Nashville.
“Hey Morton” is a family-friendly, comedic weekday show for the on-the-go listener and originates from San Diego Top 40 station, Z90/XHITZ-FM, where it airs live weekday mornings from 5:00am-10:00am. The high-energy five-hour program is hosted by Rick Morton, Edina Macic, and producer D-Rock (Derrick Malbrough). The show is heard every week in markets including San Diego, CA; Boise, ID; and Key West, FL.
Rick Morton, Host of “Hey Morton,” said: “We are thrilled to be coming to the Nashville area. D-Rock has his boots and cowboy hat ready and Edina’s getting her line dancing down! It’s a special part of America and we love to be able to connect with the new audience of 105.1 WJZM! Huge thank you to our team at Benztown, Mark Wilson and Fowler Media for making it happen! Tennessee we are comin’ in hot!”
Mark Wilson, Affiliate Sales, Benztown, said: “The Hey Morton show is a complete one-stop shop for stations looking for content that’s relatable, hot topic, and comedic, delivered with a family-friendly edge. Hosts Rick, Edina, and D-Rock have the show crew chemistry that will complement your Monday through Friday programming schedule in any chosen daypart.”
“Hey Morton” is heard Monday through Friday, and recent high-profile guests include Jerry Seinfeld, Matt Rife, Jim Gaffigan, and Jeremy Piven. The show features five segments that audiences love, including: Daily Dirt (Hollywood gossip and best joke from the previous night’s late-night shows), Hey Morton (a segment where the cast promises to answer any listener question), Heads Up (where D-Rock and Edina each have a different list of 12 words to define in 30 seconds as they pair up with a listener and go head-to-head to see who will win). Most words guessed correctly wins. Each month the losses are tallied and whoever has lost the most games will have to pay off a bet the cast has been promoting all month. Bet payoffs have included: eating a stick of butter in 60 seconds, playing the didgeridoo in public, drinking a whole bottle of Cholula hot sauce, singing the national anthem on a Walmart intercom without permission, and Phone Jibba, when Rick makes hilarious, unique, and family-friendly prank phone calls that always end with listeners laughing along.
“Hey Morton” is available in all dayparts for stations of all market sizes and formats. Benztown offers “Hey Morton” to radio stations for cash or barter.
