BENZTOWN AUDIO TRIBUTE: Queen Elizabeth II

Please check out the Benztown Audio Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, who died today at 96 at Balmoral Castle, her estate in the Scottish Highlands. Listen to the audio tribute below.

Queen Elizabeth II was Queen of the United Kingdom and 14 other sovereign countries, and has reigned for 70 years, longer than any other UK monarch. Born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary on April 21, 1926, in Mayfair, London, she was the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth). In November 1947, she married Philip Mountbatten, a former prince of Greece and Denmark, and their marriage lasted 73 years until his death in April 2021. When her father died in February 1952, 25-year-old Elizabeth became queen and has since seen enormous social change during her reign. She is survived by family including her four children with Prince Philip: Charles, Prince of Wales; Anne, Princess Royal; Prince Andrew, Duke of York; and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. With her death, her eldest son Charles, Prince of Wales, will become the new King and head of state for 14 Commonwealth realms.

The Benztown Audio Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II was written, produced and voiced by Scott Phillips.
