BURBANK, CA, September 29, 2015— Benztown’s internationally syndicated hit weekend radio show Sunday Night Slow Jams announces that it has launched the third and brand new format version of Sunday Night Slow Jams: The Throwback Edition. The Throwback Edition of Sunday Night Slow Jams is created especially for Classic Hip-Hop stations and showcases those monster Slow Jams from back in the day. Hosted by R Dub!, the “all classics” show features artists like Boyz II Men, Jodeci, R. Kelly and Keith Sweat, along with special listener dedications, called “Oral Expressions”. The Throwback Edition is the latest brand of Sunday Night Slow Jams, joining the original Rhythm/Urban version and the Mainstream CHR show–making the Sunday Night Slow Jams program even more versatile and able to fit perfectly inside multiple formats.

Stations who have added the Throwback Edition of Sunday Night Slow Jams out of the box include: WRWM-Indianapolis, KXJM-Phoenix, KNRJ-Phoenix, KKMJ-Austin, XHRM-San Diego, KUUU-Salt Lake City, KQIE-Riverside, KKBB-Bakersfield and KSZR-Tucson.

R Dub!, Creator, Host and Producer of Sunday Night Slow Jams said: “The Classic Hip-Hop/Throwback format is exploding everywhere! And we can’t forget what an absolutely enormous part that Slow Jams played in that format and era of music.  As big as artists like Tupac and Biggie were–as equally huge were the Slow Jams! Artists like Usher, Aaliyah, Boyz II Men, R. Kelly and Jodeci were part of this format’s foundation and really made this era unforgettable. If you’re a female in her 20’s to 40’s, Slow Jams were–and still are–a huge part of your life!”

Jay Michaels, Program Director for 93.9 The Beat/WRWM in Indianapolis said: “Sunday Night Slow Jams has become a huge success and huge staple for 93.9 The Beat!  We’re #1 in every demo with SNSJ!  And our social media explodes on Sunday Nights. I couldn’t be more happy and proud.”

Justin Riley, Program Director for Jam’n 107.5/KXJM Portland, said: “Hashtag: WINNING! And I can make Slow Jams sound as local as I need it to. Half the time even I don’t know that R Dub isn’t sitting in the studio here in Portland. Don’t think for a minute that this show can’t sound local for you, as well!”

R Dub!, who is also Vice President, Programming for San Diego’s Z90 and Magic 92.5 adds: “As a PD myself, I understand the importance of making sure that every hour of programming on your station reflects your format and vision. It’s why we’ve created both a Top 40/Mainstream and Throwback version of the show. Along with the original Rhythm/Urban version of the show, now even more stations are able to dominate on Sunday nights while keeping within their format lines. Everyone wins!”

Mark Wilson, Vice President, Affiliate Relations for Fusion Radio Networks said: “This new Throwback version of SNSJ is just another great example of how far R Dub! is willing to go to meet the needs of programmers in the ever-growing listener landscape.”

With more than 100 affiliates across diverse markets around the world, a weeknight version of Sunday Night Slow Jams, and R Dub!’s All-Slow Jams online channel, Slow Jams currently reaches over three million consumers per week. In addition to Sunday’s three format choices, R Dub! produces a weeknight version of Slow Jams, which airs Monday through Thursday from 10PM-12M.
