Vipology Acquires and Launches, Its Groundbreaking Smart Speaker-Powered Music Research Platform Marrying Amazon’s Alexa and IBM Watson Technology

Vipology to Reveal Revolutionary New Music Testing Platform in Demos at Worldwide Radio Summit in Hollywood This Week

LOS ANGELES, CA, May 1, 2018 – Vipology, a leading technology company engaged in building digital products and services to create inexpensive utility for users, broadcasters, and advertisers, announces that it has acquired and has launched the first smart speaker music testing platform in the marketplace, The patent-pending system marries Amazon’s Alexa and IBM Watson technology and is poised to transform the way programmers secure critical music data. Vipology partnered with Benztown in developing the platform, with Benztown providing an extensive library of thousands of song hooks covering 14 formats.

The platform brings music research into the comfort of listeners’ homes and enables listeners to share their passion through emotional responses, scoring listeners’ emotional feedback in ways legacy music testing cannot. With simple call-to-action methodology, turns the music research dynamic into a one-on-one audience relationship and conversation, leveraging the power of IBM Watson to score emotion and passion by sound.

Chris Peaslee, Chief Executive Officer, Vipology, said: “We are excited to bring this groundbreaking new technology to Radio. The platform will revolutionize music research and deliver valuable listener intelligence and highly nuanced insights into consumer music preferences. This is Radio’s next generation in music testing research for our next generation of listeners. We can’t wait to show programmers how it works and how this is going to make their jobs easier, save them money, and help them stay on the edge of what their listeners want to hear now.”

Brian Parsons, Chief Technology Officer, Vipology, said: “Alexa’s casual experience is a great way to gather research. Leveraging IBM Watson and our patent pending secret sauce to deliver consumer emotional analysis is a completely new and powerful concept for music testing. Both systems are really fun to integrate into our technology.”

Vipology will be demonstrating at the Worldwide Radio Summit on Thursday, May 3rd and Friday, May 4th at the W Hollywood Hotel. To sign up for a personal demo visit:

Vipology recently introduced its smart speaker skills product, Vipology Smart Speaker System (‘VS3’) to radio stations as consumer adoption of smart speakers continues to grow at record levels. The product launched across 100 U.S. radio stations, including 24 stations owned and operated by Adams Radio Group.

Vipology’s VS3 deliverables include quickly securing the stations’ brands on smart speakers in the midst of a virtual “land grab” for names, much like the URL land grab in the dot-com boom of the ‘90’s. In addition, Vipology works with stations in a customer-informed process to maximize their placement on smart speakers for cash or barter, and with no setup fee. Vipology also adds new features and skills for stations without additional fees.

Smart speakers have seen broad consumer adoption in the U.S. in recent months, with increasing momentum in 2018.  A recent study from Juniper Research found that smart speakers such as Amazon Echo, Google Home, and the Sonos One will be installed in over 70 million U.S. households by 2022, reaching 55% of all homes,
