Fiver Friday #540 – Radio over Algorithm, MIDI Orchestration +…

Happy Fiver Friday! Happy 4th of July weekend to all my American friends.

1. Plugin

Forma Labs just launched Filament, a real time MIDI orchestration engine. You load up to 64 instruments into one track and play them live, routed through a matrix instead of stacking tracks one by one. Built for exactly the kind of big cinematic work we do all day. Launch price is £99 through July 14, then it’s £149.

2. Inspiration

Ian Hoch at WWL wrote a piece on staying in radio instead of chasing the algorithm. This line stuck with me: “For me, the broadcast is the thing. Everything else is an echo.” Say it louder for the people in back.

When Drake was cool 🙂

4. Web/Social/Whatever

Chefs in Japan are mold aging bluefin tuna now. Same concept as a dry aged steak, they let it sit for four to eight weeks under a thick layer of white koji mold, scrape it off, and serve it raw. Sounds wrong. Apparently tastes incredible. I want to try!

5. Imaging

Fresh Adrenaline composite just went up on our SoundCloud, June 2026. Big, aggressive, exactly what it sounds like. Go listen.
