Benztown Brings Hit 5-Hour Program “Hey Morton” to National Syndication
“Hey Morton” Family-Friendly, Comedic Weekday Radio Show Now Available to Stations Across the U.S. in All Dayparts for Cash or Barter
Benztown, a global leader in radio imaging, voiceover, programming, and jingles, announces that it is nationally syndicating the hit morning radio show, “Hey Morton,” to radio stations across the U.S. “Hey Morton” is a family-friendly, comedic weekday show for the on-the-go listener and originates from San Diego Top 40 station, Z90/XHITZ-FM, where it airs live weekday mornings from 5:00am-10:00am. The show is also heard on Wild 101.1/KWYD-FM in Boise, ID. The high-energy five-hour program is hosted by Rick Morton, Edina Macic and producer D-Rock (Derrick Malbrough) and is now available in all dayparts for stations of all market sizes and formats. Benztown offers “Hey Morton” to radio stations for cash or barter.
“Hey Morton” is heard five days a week, and features five segments that audiences love, including: Daily Dirt (Hollywood gossip and best joke from the previous night’s late night shows), Hey Morton (a segment where the cast promises to answer any listener question), Heads Up (where D-Rock and Edina each have a different list of 12 words to define in :30 seconds as they pair up with a listener and go head to head to see who will win. Most words guessed correctly wins. Each month the losses are tallied and whoever has lost the most games will have to pay off a bet the cast has been promoting all month. Bet payoffs have included: eating a stick of butter in 60 seconds, playing the didgeridoo in public, drinking a whole bottle of Cholula hot sauce, singing the national anthem on a Walmart intercom without permission) and Phone Jibba, when Rick makes hilarious, unique, and family-friendly prank phone calls that always end with listeners laughing along.
Rick Morton, Host of “Hey Morton,” said: “We are so excited to bring Hey Morton to local communities across the country. We live for making a deep connection with our audience each day. Getting to laugh, cry and share our hearts with a whole new audience is a dream come true.”
Masa Patterson, Vice President, Sales & Operations, Benztown, added: “Rick has a natural ability to connect with people, and his work ethic is second to none. The support and response that he, Edina, and D-Rock have received in San Diego and Boise has been remarkable, and the natural thing is to open them up to audiences and stations around the country.”
